The SSG 5 is a Firewall/VPN platform ideal for small businesses or remote/distributed offices. The system is complementary to the other SSG series firewalls. The SSG range offer UTM and integrated routing functions to enable a single box solution to Security and Networking needs.

The SSG 5 is a fixed form factor platform with (7) 10/100 interfaces plus optional, factory installed WAN I/O options including: v.92 or ISDN BRI S/T or RS232 AUX/Serial. 802.11 a/b/g Wireless is also available as a factory configured option.

The SSG5 is easy to manage and offers a wide variety of set-up and configuration options - Administrators can control NAT, routing and other critical system functions.. Management is via a Web interface, as well as a command line interface (CLI) - this means it is easy to get started, but allows a level of control and system information that will satisfy the advance security technologist.

The SSG5 offers 160Mbps (large packet) or 90Mbs IMIX (a measure of real world throughput) firewall speed, 40 Mbps 3DES VPN throughput, 4,000 concurrent firewall sessions, and 25 IPSec VPN tunnels.

The optional Extended key offers up to 40 Tunnels, 8,000 Concurrent sessions, Failover as well as VoIP and VLAN enhancements
